Tyanna Soucy
Community Enhancement Coordinator
Aanii, Boozhoo! I am an Anishinaabe Kwe and part of the makwa clan from Atikameksheng Anishnawbek First Nation. My territory spans from the valley of the Vermillion River eastward to the valleys of the Wahnapitae and Sturgeon River. I have recently finished my double major in Criminology and Sociology at Western University and will be graduating in spring 2024. ISC became my home in the last couple years of my undergrad, and they supported me through some very important times in my academic life, and I only hope to do the same for other students. I am delighted to be working and have the role of Community Enhancement Coordinator. I can offer personal, academic, and cultural supports to our Indigenous undergrads, graduate students, and youth. My goal for this position is to keep fostering a welcoming and safe atmosphere so that those who join ISC have a feeling of community and belonging. Additionally working to improve the presence and success of Indigenous students in Western programs. This is something I am very passionate about.
