Indigenous Student Orientation Day - Early September

Come meet other first year students for a fun day with the Indigenous Student Centre (ISC)! During the Indigenous Student Orientation you will also meet ISC staff, learn about resources and services offered on campus, and meet some amazing student leaders! Normally there will be a campus tour, lunch, and off-campus outing. 

Indigenous Student Transition Program (ISTP)

The Indigenous Student Transition Program (formerly ATO) is designed to assist Indigenous students in undergraduate programs at Western University. As an ISTP student, you will be given academic, cultural and personal supports during your first two years of study and thereafter. The goal of the ISTP is ensure successful transition and completion of your degree. 

ISTP programming includes:

  • Orientation activities/workshops
  • Academic counselling and advocacy through individual meetings with the Indigenous Student Advisor every term
  • Tutor support available through drop-in and by appointment
  • Indigenous Circles of Support and Leadership Program
  • Academic related workshops, information and training sessions
  • Access to Elders and cultural and community supports
  • After hours access to the Indigenous Student Centre and kitchen facilities
  • Access to cultural programming (e.g. drum making, drumming/singing, beading, language classes and cooking)
  • Work-study opportunities

Application Process
