AIAI Health Scholarship was created to recognize First Nations excellence in a Health or Traditional Healing post-secondary program. The successful applicants (2) will receive $1,500.00 with an honorable recognition by AIAI’s Grand Chief at the 2022 Annual General Assembly.

Canada Post Awards for Indigenous Students

Canada Post offers $2,000 grants for Indigenous students annually! This unique scholarship provides funding to students who are renewing their educational learning. If you’ve been out of school for a year or have already completed a full year of schooling, this is the scholarship for you!

Anita George Memorial Nursing Scholarship (Baccalaureate)

The Canadian Nurses Foundation is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to supporting nursing education across Canada. We provide a wide range of scholarships to nursing students who are pursuing baccalaureate, master’s, and Ph.D. degrees. These scholarships are awarded based on merit and can range from $750 to $10,000, depending on the level of study. The Foundation is proud to offer more than 60 scholarships to deserving nursing students every year. These scholarships provide financial support to students who are committed to advancing their education and pursuing careers in nursing

Dreamcatcher Charitable Foundation

The Dreamcatcher Charitable Foundation offers limited funding to Indigenous students in Ontario. A unique scholarship, this award can also be applied to purchase computers for special needs students, pay for organized school trips, and other educational circumstances.

Indspire

Supporting the enrolment and success of more Indigenous students is a priority for Western University. We are pleased to partner with Indspire to offer annual bursaries to Indigenous students enrolled in programs at Western who demonstrate financial need. Western attracts individuals with a broad worldview, seeking to study, influence and lead in the international community. Offering nearly 500 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, our 12 Faculties/Schools attract top students from 128 countries. As part of Western’s Office of Indigenous Initiatives, our Indigenous Student Centre supports Indigenous students in reaching their highest potential.

Kathleen Blinkhorn Aboriginal Student Scholarship

Kathleen Blinkhorn Aboriginal Student Scholarship supports Aboriginal students living in non-profit housing in Ontario. Each scholarship winner receives $2,000 for use towards their post-secondary education costs, like tuition, books, technology and transportation.

Moss Bag Project Scholarship

We want to empower Indigenous mothers with the gift of education, to meet this need we created- The Moss Bag Scholarship. This is a post-secondary education scholarship for Indigenous mothers and Two-Spirit parents. Join our circles of support by becoming a donor for the Moss Bag Scholarship. Two scholarships at $2000 each. Eligibility Criteria: Indigenous mother or Two-Spirit parent attending or planning to attend a post-secondary institution who is driven to embody the idea of reciprocity and kindness.

FNIGC Student Bursary

FNIGC will grant up to four $2,500 bursaries to First Nations students enrolled in a post-secondary institution in either health, social science, or applied science fields, or studying issues related to helping First Nations achieve data sovereignty. A focus on quantitative or mixed methods research in one or more of the following fields is considered an asset:

NIB Trust Fund

NIB Trust Fund Announces 2024-2025 Call for Applications from individuals will open in the spring. ONECA Post-Secondary Student Award

A $1000.00 scholarship will be awarded annually to an Indigenous (First Nations (Status and Non-status), Metis and Inuit) Post-Secondary COLLEGE student and to a post-secondary UNIVERSITY student, who have successfully completed their first year in a full-time program in a field of study that has a counselling component. These two (2) scholarships are administered by the Ontario Native Education Counselling Association.

OUA Black and Indigenous Heritage Student Athlete Bursary
The BIHS Bursary provides additional financial support to student-athletes whose heritage is self-identified as either Black or Indigenous and who demonstrate financial need. Valued at $2000.00 per athlete

RBC Future Launch Scholarship for Indigenous Youth

The RBC Future Launch Scholarship for Indigenous Youth will award 20 scholarships annually valued up to $10,000 each per year (up to 4 years) to First Nations, Inuit and Métis students across Canada demonstrating strong academic performance and community involvement. RBC has been providing a scholarship for Indigenous students to complete post-secondary education since 1992. To date, more than $1.8 million dollars have been awarded to 198 Indigenous youth across Canada pursuing post-secondary education.

SISCO Emergency Assistance Bursary (SFNS Students)
With the generous support of Sisco & Associates Consulting Services Inc. (SISCO), the SFNS has launched the SISCO Emergency Assistance Fund. The purpose of the fund is to provide financial supports to SFNS Post-Secondary students who are experiencing financial need due to an emergency. Students can access up to $1000 per year. Funding is limited and as a result we may not be able to assist all students who request financial support.
This fund supports the following communities:

TD Scholarship for Indigenous Peoples

Together with AFOA Canada, a not-for-profit led by Indigenous Peoples, we’ve worked to build a scholarship for Indigenous Peoples. Through it, 25 scholarships are available to be awarded annually, worth up to $60K over 4 years. Students from the Indigenous community face unique challenges and systemic barriers that can make getting a post-secondary education difficult. So, TD has worked closely with AFOA Canada to build a scholarship program that helps meets the unique needs of students from the Indigenous community. Valued at $10,000 toward tuition each year, for a maximum of 4 years, $5,000 towards living expenses each year, for a maximum of 4 years and employment opportunities at TD.

Tom Longboat Awards

Tom Longboat Awards provide a forum for acknowledging the growth and strength of the Aboriginal sport movement in Canada and its tremendous impact on the sport development from community level participation to elite level competition. The Awards include a male and female category. All nomination packages will be forwarded directly to the Aboriginal Sport Circle, where a National Selection Working Group will determine the national recipients for the male and female category. The two national recipients will be presented their Awards at the Canada's Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
