Supporting Aboriginal Graduate Enhancement (SAGE)

SAGE is a peer-based support network for Indigenous graduate students at Western University aimed at facilitating transition, retention and completion of Indigenous students in graduate studies. 

The SAGE Coordinator position is a part-time role held by a current Indigenous student at Western University. The position is funded by the School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and the Society of Graduate Students (SOGS). The SAGE Coordinator reports to the SOGS Council at least once per term regarding Indigenous Graduate student concerns.

Melissa Schnarr, PhD Candidate, Faculty of Education (CELS)

Boozhoo, she:kon! I'm super excited to serve as this year's SAGE (Supporting Aboriginal Graduate Enhancement) Coordinator. I am Anishinaabe and Kanien'keha'ka from Bkejwanong Territory (Walpole Island), with family ties in Six Nations of the Grand River. I'm a writer, artist, educator and big-time nerd and looking forward to meeting and connecting with my fellow Indigenous grad students!

Pomodoro Writing

We’ll do rounds of the "pomodoro technique”, which suppors intentional writing, mindfulness and accountability.
1-3pm/ *1:30-3:30pm | WSS 2130 (former Propel Centre)

Family Crafts 1-3PM
March 13, 1-3PM. Bring your tiny humans for some March Break crafting.
There will be arigirumi, diamond art and felt kits along with assorted crart supplies to get creative with your fam. Bring your tiny humans for some March Break crafting.
