ISC Events

In collaboration with campus and community partners, the Indigenous Student Centre offers a wide variety of events throughout the year including socials, cultural workshops, guest speakers and facilitators as well as orientation events in September. Indigenous Undergraduate Student Appreciation Day


Held annually the week before classes begin for the Fall term

Come meet other first year students for a fun day with the Indigenous Student Centre (ISC)! During the Indigenous Student Orientation you will also meet ISC staff, learn about resources and services offered on campus, and meet some amazing student leaders! There will be a campus tour, lunch, and a social off-campus.

Corn Soup Lunches

The Indigenous Student Centre hosts a monthly Corn Soup Lunch on the first Wednesday of the month (second Wednesday in September). Enjoy Oneida style corn soup or vegan alternative on the following days in the ISC, room 2100, WSSB:

Truth and Reconciliation Week at Western

September 30, a time to remember and honour the children who attended Residential Schools across Canada.

Indigenous Student Graduation Ceremony

Western’s Indigenous Student Graduation Ceremony takes place each year in early April or late March. During the ceremony we honour and celebrate our Indigenous student graduates’ accomplishments. Graduates are gifted with a Western Indigenous Student Centre stole. Visit our graduation ceremony page to learn more.

Youth Outreach Events

Since 2006, Western University’s Indigenous Student Centre has offered innovative outreach programs to thousands of Indigenous youth (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit) from across Southwestern Ontario and Canada. The Indigenous Student Centre diligently fosters relationships with Indigenous communities to create pathways for Indigenous youth to access post-secondary education.
