Métis Community Wellness Worker - Métis Nation of Ontario, London
Allie is a self- identified Métis counsellor working for the Métis Nation Ontario in their London Office. In her role, Allie works to provide decolonizing support to folks who wish to learn more about their culture, access peer counselling, provide system navigation and referral support, and work towards reducing family/relationship violence and promoting public health among Indigenous peoples. Allie’s program is free, available to any age, and does not require a status card.
Allie is also studying at Laurentian University in the Indigenous Social Work Program, and is from the Grand Bend area. She uses decolonizing and feminist approaches in her work, and strives to have a strong connection to the land and community around her.
